Jet setting children’s musician Brett Campbell is one of the hardest working entertainers in Australia. Criss crossing the nation playing more than 300 shows a year has built Brett a following from remote outback town early learning centres to major festivals in the cities.
Brett’s connection with his audience and his sense of fun have combined with his songwriting to produce an artist in genuine high demand in his home country. He has performed at the National Folk Festival (twice), the Auckland Folk Festival in New Zealand (twice), Out of the Box in Sydney, the Royal Melbourne Show and the Rhymes Kid’s Music Festival national tour just to name a very few.
Brett also showcased in 2010 and 2011 at the Folk Alliance International conference in Memphis Tennessee. It was here that Philadelphia Grammys voting governor, Gene Shay, called Brett’s song ‘Scary Monster’ the “perfect song!” In 2011 he performed alongside Cathy and Marcy in a memorable children’s concert at the event.
Brett is about to release his 6th album of children’s music. In the past he has been a 3 time semi finalist in the UK songwriting contest and his holiday song ‘Arthur the Christmas Cat’ has received international radio attention as well as airplay on Australia’s national broadcaster, the ABC, for the last 2 festive seasons. He shows no sign of slowing down in 2012 with a national theatre tour planned as well as a monthly podcast and a new DVD.
