Charlie Hope

Charlie Hope spent her childhood in Toronto and Boston harmonizing with her sister and in her school choirs. Charlie's fresh approach to children's music stems from the many years she has spent with children — from receiving her degree in Art Therapy with Children to the preschools and private homes where she was a trusted caregiver. Charlie believes that music is vital to a child’s overall well-being.

Her debut album I'M ME! garnered much critical praise. It was nominated for a JUNO Award and won Best Song and Best Album in the Independent Music Awards. The follow-up, WORLD OF DREAMS, continued Charlie's tradition of respecting and reflecting the experiences of children, only this time in a soothing lullaby form.

Charlie's most recent release, SONGS, STORIES AND FRIENDS: LET'S GO PLAY! takes the listener on a journey to the playground with songs, verses and spoken word. Reviewer Lynne Heffley of The Parent's Choice Awards praises her "unforced sunny spirit and her youthful, sweet and clear-as-a-bell soprano," and Zooglobble's Stefan Shepherd describes the songs as "sparkly and joyful, with Hope's bright, clear voice carrying the tune." CoolMomPicks' Christina Refford says the album is "a must-have CD for any young child's CD collection."
SONGS, STORIES AND FRIENDS: LET'S GO PLAY! was also named one of the CoolMomPicks top albums of 2011, Laurie Berkner's top 8 albums of the year, a runner up in the Fids & Kamily top albums of the year and has also been recognized in Canada with a recent 2012 JUNO Award nomination.

Charlie's music can be heard on XM Radio, Canada's Galaxy Kids' Stuff Radio, multiple commercial airlines' inflight entertainment, and various children's radio programs. The popular "Train Song" was featured on The Vinyl Cafe, heard on CBC Radio and NPR.

When not touring all corners of North America, Canadian singer-songwriter Charlie Hope resides in Seattle, Washington.
