Moey's Music Party

Moey (a.k.a. “Melissa Levis”), New York City’s #1 mommy rocker and an award-winning Off-Broadway songwriter, is leading a “princess revolution” on New York City's playgrounds, empowering and entertaining children with interactive, sparkly, rocking songs. The New York Post calls her “The Pied Piper in Pink” because she performs for tens of thousands of children throughout New York City, Westchester, and The Hamptons.

Moey leads her band, Moey’s Music Party, with songs that Time Out NY Kids has called “entertaining and educational tunes reminiscent of Schoolhouse Rock” and The New York Times has called “pop music that parents can enjoy too.” Nickelodeon’s Parent’sConnect.com nominated Moey’s Music Party as New York City’s Best Party Entertainer.

Moey’s Music Party performs in venues including FAO Schwarz, The New York Public Library, The Tribeca Film Festival, Bloomingdale's, The New York Junior League, Gymboree, Children's Museum of the East End, The JCC, Williamsburg Waterfront, Fairview Country Club, Fairway Market, schools, museums, and more. She created Central Park’s Sandbox Sing-Along Series, performing more than 25 concerts in playgrounds throughout Central Park.

Their brand new CD, Princess Revolution!, celebrates girl power and promotes confidence, leadership, and joyful self-expression in all children. It builds on the success of Happily Ever Moey! A Fairy Tale Lark in Central Park, their Summer 2011 DVD/CD which was named in the Top Ten Products at Toy Fair 2012. Happily Ever Moey! won multiple awards including Parents' Choice, National Parenting Publications, Kid's First!, and Creative Child and earned a starred review from School Library Journal. Moey's debut CD, Moey’s Music Party, won the Dr. Toy Award and received accolades from magazines, moms—and even Mayor Bloomberg.

Moey's Princess Revolution Tour is sponsored by Oriental Trading Company and includes performances at the Tribeca Film Festival, J & R Jr, Brooklyn's Albee Square, Bryant Park's reading series, and Bloomingdale's flagship 59th St. store.

She rocked Off-Broadway with a two-month run of Moey Live - P is for Party! at the DR2 Theatre. The New York Times gave it a glowing endorsement noting that kids “dress up and go crazy as they follow Moey in a musical adventure to plan a fabulous party with things like puppets, princesses, pom-poms, and pirates."

Moey leads Moey's Music Party classes year round for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in New York City. She was recently a panelist at Kindiefest, the national family music conference. Her essays have appeared in The Huffington Post and Big Apple Parent. She has been profiled in The New York Times, New York Post, New York Family, Time Out NY Kids and throughout the blogosphere.

In addition to frequently performing at children's birthday parties, Moey writes and performs custom songs for grown-up celebrations in New York, Beverly Hills, Palm Beach, Boston, and Washington DC. She has written songs to honor 2008 Presidential candidate Bill Richardson, former Canadian Prime Minster Brian Mulroney, actor Eli Wallach and many other political, professional, and philanthropic leaders.

Moey is a graduate of Brown University and has her MFA from The Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. To learn more about NYC's #1 Mommy Rocker, "The Pied Piper in Pink," visit Moey's Music Party's website.
