"MudMommies and Mayhem is a great blend of blues, folk and Americana. With lyrics that talk straight to the kids and music sophisticated enough for the whole family to enjoy, Poochamungas will get toes tapping and bodies moving." -Dave Loftin/The Saturday Morning Cereal Bowl

History

12 years ago John Joyce sought to remove his inability to play any instrument and signed up for classes at the Old Town School of Folk Music and learned to play the harmonica. Now emboldened by this ability he went and took some guitar lesson and mastered 3 chords (A, D, E). With this new ability he started writing songs for his then 3 year old daughter, presented them to a group of musicians and found they were pretty good. Then the recruitment of fellow Old Town Members ensued along with a young drummer (later replaced by his father), a youth pastor, a fellow firefighter and later another one. Also a sax player who worked with his wife and then later the wife of the sax player. Performances can be anything from a 2 piece acoustic set to 8 people filling the stage and no matter what the size of the band or the gig the Poochamungas bring their high enrrgy interactive show wherever they go.
