Trout Forest Music Festival, or "The Trout", is a weekend music festival that occurs in Ear Falls, Ontario every year on the second week in August. It is a small, intimate festival that runs three stages; one mainstage, one workshop stage (in the beer gardens), and one children's stage (depending on the funding available in any particular year, this stage may be cut). The crowds are not large, but very receptive. The volunteer base and staff of the festival are extremely helpful and enthusiastic. Part of the mission of The Trout is to showcase Canadian acts, making the content of the festival 100% Canadian.

The Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival is an annual theatre festival that takes place in the middle of July. It is the second largest Fringe Festival in North America, behind only the festival held in Edmonton, Alberta. The festival revolves around performance art and theatrical productions taking place around Winnipeg downtown at a number of venues provided by the festival, and a free stage in Old Market Square where much of the children's programming takes place (organized under the banner of Kid's Fringe).

Lockport Children's Festival is an outdoor winter festival located just outside Lockport, Manitoba on the edge of the Red River Floodway. It takes place at the end of January, and has been running since 1988. It usually includes pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, sledding, clowns, jugglers and bands. While they promote their heated tents on their website, the tents can be only marginally warmer than it is outside, so dress warm! Even with the cold, however, any act booked to play the festival will enjoy an engaged and appreciative audience.

Alphabet Soup is a Western Canadian Music Award nominated trio based in Winnipeg, Manitoba in the vast Canadian Prairies. Their hilarious on stage antics, interactive songs, and awesome knock-knock jokes have earned them a place in great festivals and events around Canada. The three key ingredients to Alphabet Soup are Sean Patrick Hogan, Micki Casey and Tim Braun, mad geniuses who love nothing more than to see people groovin' to the "Backhoe Boogie", surfin' in a kiddie pool, and warning people about the evils of brussel sprouts!
